Harvard beets

Bills grandmother 's  recipe 

3/4 C. Sugar
3 T. Butter
1/4 t. Salt
4 T. Cornstarch
1/3 C. Vinegar
1/3 C. Water
2 (15 oz.) Cans of beets (savings  1/3 C.  Of the juice )

Combine : sugar, cornstarch, vinegar , 1/3 C. beet juice  and boil,  cook 5 minutes .
Add: beets,  simmer.
Stir in : butter and salt.
